If you are interested in sports, you can experience some great hockey games watching Karlstad’s home team, Färjestad, play at Löfbergs Lila Arena. The arena is the third largest arena in Sweden
Bandy is another popular Nordic sport in Karlstad and to experience some Swedish sports nostalgia you have to go to BolticGöta’s home arena Tingvalla IP. That is also IF Göta Friidrott’s arena and they are one of Sweden’s oldest and most successful organizations. They are hosting Götagalan, which is the third largest track and field event in Sweden, and the Swedish championships are also going to taking place here in August 2004.
The International Swedish Rally is another major event organized each year in Värmland and based in Karlstad. Year after year, rally teams and carmakers from around the world to the town to compete.
Other sporting events that Karlstad has to offer include American football, soccer and tennis. Carlstad’s (Karlstad) Crusaiders are a perennial winner from the Sweden’s American football league and Mallbacken is one of the top teams in the women’s soccer league.
